Terelj & Hustai National Parks
This card set contains images from three protected areas near Mongolia’s capital, Ulaanbaatar. Gorkhi-Terelj National Park (293,000 hectares) is best known for the dramatic rock formations of Gorkhi Valley. Hustai National Park (50,600 hectares) protects an area of mountain steppe land, famous for the takhi, the native wild horse of Mongolia. Bogd Khan Mountain Strictly Protected Area, a World Heritage Site, (42,000 hectares) stands on the edge of Ulaanbaatar and is thought by some to be the world’s oldest nature reserve.
This collection is the product of Conservation Ink, a nonprofit organization devoted to supporting conservation and environmental awareness in Mongolia’s protected areas through the production and sale of published educational materials. All proceeds go to conservation efforts in and around the national parks.
